New PADI standards for courses

Divers studying for learn to dive or continuing education courses need to be aware of the new PADI standards that have recently come into effect.
All students are now required to have their own manual for use during the course and to retain for reference afterwards. PADI believe that this move will enhance the learning process and quality of experience.
Manuals are available to purchase in resort or can be bought in advance from your Tour Operator. Divers' Lodge Hurghada can also arrange for PADI to send you the materials in advance – please ask for details.
PADI manuals in resort will now be charged at 40 euros with the certification fee 35 euros as before. This applies to Open Water Diver, Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver. For all other course info please email office@divers-lodge.com. |

Is Diving a good way to meet men?!
|
|
That was the question asked by best-selling author Isabel Losada when she visited Divers' Lodge recently in Hurghada. Isabel was our guest for a week – learning to dive as research for her new book, which is simply entitled Men. Some people have all the fun don’t they!!
Isabel is well-known to thousands of fans as the writer of two incredibly popular and extremely funny books – The Battersea Park Road to Enlightenment and A Beginner’s Guide to Changing the World: For Tibet, With Love. Her new book on Men promises to be just as witty, and also that bit more interesting for divers (especially female divers) as part of it recounts her experiences as a first time diver and lone female out and about in the Red Sea.
A publishing date is yet to be given for Men but a TV series is also in the pipeline which will no doubt help bring diving to the wider consciousness. Isabel’s books have so far sold over 75,000 copies and been translated into fourteen languages. Find out more at www.isabellosada.com

BSAC divers welcome at Divers' Lodge
|
|
We are pleased to announce that Divers' Lodge has become one of the first dive centres in the world to join the latest BSAC initiative.
Divers' Lodge Hurghada is now a BSAC Premier Centre. This means we are authorised to train and certify all levels of Diver up to Advanced Diver grade and offer additional Skill Development courses. Divers' Lodge Sharm El Sheikh is now a BSAC Resort Centre and welcomes BSAC divers of all levels for daily diving.
BSAC launched a new initiative at the NEC Dive Show last Autumn to extend the range of BSAC training centres and facilities offered. This scheme means that BSAC divers can now find a much greater choice of diving and training options, not just in the UK but around the world. |

Divers' Lodge has become the first new BSAC dive centre in Hurghada, and one of the first worldwide, to join up to this exciting new initiative. BSAC divers have been coming to dive with Divers' Lodge since it was first established in 1993. Joining in with this new initiative ensures that the training needs of BSAC divers are now even better catered for in the Red Sea. Divers' Lodge also welcomes BSAC divers of all grades who simply wish to dive.
In addition to BSAC status, Divers' Lodge is one of the most established TDI facilities in the Red Sea and well-known for being the original Technical Diving pioneers in the region. As a way of extending this heritage, Divers' Lodge Hurghada intends to become a BSAC Technical Centre in the near future. |
